I found a fantastic way to satisfy my desire to travel, in this dramatic period, the word travel or travel is out, but you can still have a fantastic holiday. Continue reading the article: How to plan a vacation in your city.

You don’t have to travel around the world to experience an adventure.

Experiencing your city on a whole new level will make you fall in love with it again <3.

Here is my guide on how to plan a vacation in your city.

Plan it

Approach your stay by planning it, the same way you would approach or plan a vacation. Mark the dates in your calendar.

Avoid making any other commitments during this time except for tours and fun things you would do on your weekend. After marking the date, start looking for inspiration, look for unique experiences and interesting activities , then start writing an itinerary.

Book a Room in a Hotel

Sometimes you just have to get out of the house! Booking a hotel will make everything more like a special moment and you will come back refreshed, you will have no worries about: cleaning the house, tidying up, washing machines, there will be only you and your trip . You will be helping to help keep the economy going in your area during this difficult time.

Is there a place in town that you’ve been observing for a while? Be it a chic hotel or a one-of-a-kind B&B, be treated well! .

Be a tourist in your city

Every single person I speak to always tells me the same thing: I’ve never had time to explore where I live .

Explore those historical sites and landmarks. See your city with new eyes. Move to those places you’ve never been and look for tours. Look for something that allows you to immerse yourself more deeply in a side of your city that you’ve never seen before. Think food tours, or wine tastings, guided explorations . Photo tours are a great way to find great views and take breathtaking photos.

Use another means of getting around

Find another way to get around: by bike, on foot, by bus. This is the time to do something different.

Who cares if it’s not the fastest way? Taking a different route will give you a new perspective and open your eyes to new people, places and things that generally tend to be off your radar.

I have always found, in my travels, that public transport is the best way to get to know the local culture, to learn more about the places you are visiting. If you drive most of the time, you miss a big chunk of the city.

Try a new restaurant

Who says you have to travel to try foods from all over the world? Your city probably has many hidden gems that you never got to experience.

Make sure you try new foods during your stay , it will make your stay even more special . Grab a drink in one neighborhood and a coffee on the other side of the city, try new places. Make a list of the ones you want to try and turn it into a treasure hunt on your city tour.

Allow yourself to relax

A stay in your city is the main opportunity to steal time for yourself. Find a local pool where you can relax with a drink (better if you are looking for a hotel that provide a day pass). Sleep late. Do whatever you relax and refresh yourself.

Log out of social media

One of my key elements for a perfect stay is the disconnection from all social networks. I rarely publish photos relating to that moment in which I take them, I prefer to post them later, and in the meantime enjoy my vacation . Turn off your phone or put it in flight mode to continue using the camera. Do a social media detox . Ignore your emails you’re on vacation !.

Do your best to embrace the present moment.

The list of I would like but I don’t have time

Now is the time to plan unique activities. Is there a lesson you wish you had taken? Do you like dance, horse riding, pottery? This is the right time to try it out.

See if there is something adventurous or different in your city. Try rock climbing, I’ve just tried Windsurfing and it’s really exciting. Find out if you are good at shooting.

You will create tons of breathtaking memories.
