Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands, famous not only for the artistic heritage it possesses but for the fascinating canals and narrow, slightly oblique and colorful houses .. It is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen.
If you have a short travel program it is possible to visit Amsterdam in a few days by managing to visit what makes this city most characteristic, from the main attractions, to the museums, to relax on the green meadows, to breathe sighs while admiring the beauties that are captured. from the bridges that swarm in the city.

- Accommodation : The accommodations in the center are quite expensive, while they are cheaper moving towards the suburbs (a classic) but you can find excellent offers, even if you only move a little, you can reach the center by bus or tram.
- Public transport : I recommend getting the pass tickets, there are 24 hour tickets -, 48-, 72-, 96-, 120-, 144- 168 providing a cheap way to explore the city.

You can buy a season ticket directly in the electronic boxes at the station, or at the GVB shop in front of the Amsterdam station.
1 day :
- tactical café with map taken from the information point in front of the central station.
- Heineken Experience : a journey into the fascinating, dynamic history of Heineken, an ancient and contemporary journey at the same time, truly an evocative experience. On the spot we paid € 19.00 each, but I’m sure you can save by buying the ticket online. however it is 19 euros it was worth them all, including 2 half pints offered by them at the end of the tour. Duration of the tour about 2 to 2 and a half hours.
- Bicycle in the city center : our hotel included the bicycle rental service, alternatively in the city center you will find various shops that can be rented without problems, costs range from about € 10.00 for three hours, to about € 15 for the whole day .
- Red light district : characterized by the red lights lit in the narrow streets of Amsterdam, very touristy, restaurants and pubs close at hand every ten steps, charming women sitting in front of the historic shop windows of Amsterdam, advice, do not take out your mobile phone in front of the windows, they could get scared and get very angry for fear of being photographed.
2 Day: museum day
- Dam Square : the heart of the city
- RIJKSMUSEUM : It houses the largest collection of Flemish art. Open every day from 9 to 17. The ticket price is 15 €.
- Outdoor Chess Game: In the garden of the Rijksmuseum, by chance we came across a giant chess board and started a surreal game.
- Van Gogh Museum : ticket price € 15, the only inconvenience is that it must be purchased online.
- Anne Frank House : perhaps the most touching experience in Amsterdam, total immersion in what Anne’s life was inside the house that hid her, a really well done tour. the ticket price is € 10, even here, the only inconvenience, the ticket must be bought online.

Openbare Bibliotheek : one of the most beautiful libraries in Europe, on the top floor you can enjoy the panorama of the city sitting on very comfortable armchairs.
- A’DAM Lookout : a must do. Reach the iconic A’DAM tower which rises on the banks of the River IJ and climb to the roof of the 22-story LOOKOUT tower , you can choose to experience a thrilling thrill with a ride on the “Over the Edge” swings. ticket price € 12, book well in advance, seats sell out immediately.
3 day:
- Cruise along the canals: relaxing, lasts about an hour and the ticket price was 11 €. There are different types of cruises, you can choose the one that suits you best, from the cheapest to the most expensive.

Bloemenmarkt Flower Market : The peculiarity of this market is that it is the only floating flower market in Europe . It is in fact located on some barges used as houseboats. You can find all kinds of flowers, including all sorts of bulbs. great for getting some souvenirs, but watch out, take a look at more shops, I noticed a difference in price between the first and the central ones.
- coffee shop : I recommend the less touristy ones, they are more characteristic.
