Many times I found myself having a weekend off, without knowing exactly what to do with my time, the house is clean, the shopping is done, I don’t like the usual clubs, and you realize it’s time to change a little air, it would take a trip but at the same time you don’t want to spend too much, and after a message from a friend, I’m at the station with two train tickets to Bristol<\/strong> .<\/p>\n

Bristol is located in the south west of England<\/em> , it is a city where you can admire both the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, a city with ancient maritime traditions, Bristol is today one of the most important and interesting places of Great Britain<\/u><\/strong> .<\/p>\n

Small enough to be discovered in a few days, but packed with activities and places to discover.<\/p>\n

How to get<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

We left from London station, the train ticket (taken the same day) cost about 50 Pound return<\/strong> , and the journey time was 2 and a half hours<\/strong> . If you want to save money, you can also take the bus<\/em> which takes a little longer but has a much lower cost.<\/p>\n

How to move<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

I recommend to move on foot, it is very feasible without any problem, alternatively if you want to move by public transport you can buy the TRAVELWEST CARD<\/strong> , I’ll explain better, at each public transport stop, you will find a column for the ticket sales service, from which you can choose the card that best suits your stay.<\/p>\n

What see<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Street Art<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Bristol is famous for being a city of art, I recommend to experience it and get to know it on foot because it will be easier to come across the murals, scattered here and there around the city, in fact for all lovers of street art it is the home of Banksy, there is talk of huge and beautiful murals, so much so that you can spend minutes and minutes looking at them.<\/p>\n

Clifton Suspension Bridge<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Main symbol of the city, a bridge on the top of the hill where the city began to form and which allows you to cross the River Avon. Famous for its reputation as a bridge for suicides<\/strong> . It is possible to walk up to the bridge without any problems, only after a bit of climbing, you will find The White Lion Pub<\/strong> nearby, famous for its half pint of cider<\/strong> and the spectacular view of the bridge.<\/p>\n

Brunel’s SS Great Britain<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

It is currently Bristol’s most historic attraction. A museum ship<\/strong> docked in the Harborside near Spike Island on the River Avon. Book your ticket in advance<\/strong> , this way you can skip the line, especially on weekends the attraction is particularly crowded.<\/p>\n

    Bristol Cathedral<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

    This cathedral was founded in the 12th century. Over the years it was continuously expanded and in 1542 it was declared a cathedral. It is still available for concerts and shows. It has a chapter house, a cloister and a beautiful garden, as well as a coffee shop inside. When we entered we found ourselves in the middle of a really beautiful choral practice.<\/p>\n

    City Museum and Art Gallery<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

    Main museum of the city, it contains a permanent exhibition of art, history and natural sciences<\/strong> , admission is free and is open every day.<\/p>\n

    Cabot Tower<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

    To enjoy a privileged view of the city, you can climb the 108 steps<\/strong> of the Cabot Tower<\/strong> . Monument built in 1890 to commemorate the 400th<\/strong> anniversary of John Cabot<\/strong> ‘s voyage to what would become later Canada<\/strong> .<\/p>\n
